Electrolux: Now you're cooking
Understanding your audience is worth more than anything else. They haven't spend a lot of money producing the films or taken the photos but they have spend a lot of time understanding what the food lovers like. They like beautiful imageries and Electrolux give them just that, even the classic quote image.
Add Tumblr and Pinterest and you start having a dialogue with your audience.

Ministry of found
To be honest forget the Yell campaign and get stuck in the blog posts as there are some interesting videos and articles on the Pop-up shops phenomenon.

Ballonacy V2
Updated and upgraded the campaign is clearly smother this time, you can even push message to people visiting your site, an app is coming soon and the now trendy "badges" mechanic is in place. The attention to details is impressive.

Future Express
Pizza Express is changing, follow their progress to see how much money they have spend on crap, especially the conversationalist video. Would have been nice to have a live feed to see it coming to life and to see if all their ideas work because at the moment it's only a blog and I don't think any of their customers care. I wonder if they are going to ban crying babies during the Jazz night?

Amnesty: Demand Dignity

Again an old site but it shows the constrains of designing sites for European and Arabic languages. Try it yourself (they could have done more).
It's a shame that the form to enter your "voice" is so long, it kills the call to action spontaneity and I don't see who is going to SMS to the site?
There is also no reason why the site still show a beta message (data left from testing?) since the campaign is finished. I know charity haven't got a lot of money but if you are the agency doing the job, you should finished it and try to get you money back with PR.
The nice idea behind all this is that people could comment on the "voices", connect to people or be connected via people. The reality of it, for this sort of campaign, no one does, as seen by the 0 comments and 0 connection on most post.
The mission section, which is hard to find, has various level of content but is actually the best part of the site with some great voice blogs. I would have pushed the visibility of this content.
But the campaign worked, with over 50,000 voices raise, I am sure they could have had more if they have fixed some navigation and design issues. Sadly doesn't looks like the site has a "exit strategy" (cringe).

Charmin Enjoy the Go

Please, please this has to stop. Some campaigns are so crap they are funny but this is shit (see what I did there? no clever I know, sorry). Perhaps we could write about the rise of reality TV, the influence of the 15 minutes of fame in our society, the effect of the global recession and the lack of real aspiration for the new generation and try to make sense on how this campaign came about. Or why the ambassadors are so PC: one gay, one black, one actor, one mum and most of them have stage experience. Fair play to them they have it all, Twitter, Blog, flickr, Facebook, YouTube it's all covered. Please do watch the YouTube channel it's worth it. I also liked the http://www.charminleaveyourmark.com idea, a live streaming of a toilet wall, shame is was not working for me. To be honest this toilet duck campaign is actually more interesting.

Public Ad Campaign
I know this is supposed to be a blog about digital campaings but I think we should do this every big cities in Europe too! So get your brushes out and go and do some art.

isbrave.com

I like the film and the minimal approach but are you really going to follow them on Twitter? also what is the point of the "is brave" suggestions? are they going to do anything with it? would be great if they display them in the Diesel shop for example. The moderation sort of work for English but you still can put as much profanity as you want in any other languages. http://www.isbrave.com/
thetwistedoriginals.com

Taking its inspiration I am sure from Kanye West blog, Levis is trying to show you what's cool and therefore getting a bit of cool feedback in the process. They had the good idea to create some cartoons and do some PR stunt offline too to keep things moving. To make this successful they will have to keep it up and tune down the reference to Levis. http://www.thetwistedoriginals.com/

mum-e.co.uk/

It's a sponsored blog for 02, at least they are up-front about it in the "who I am" section but to be honest just by reading the post you would have found that out after the first paragraph. So why would you care to read it? it's not like we can relate as her life is different from most mum and most family will laugh at the idea of paying £150 for the Joggler. I hope this is not going in the direction of the BT broadband storyline but an extra marital affair that his conducted via technology could be great or the dad using the Joggler to cover his AA meeting by entering Gym instead could be fun to follow. http://www.mum-e.co.uk/

Hostel meets Lost meets Blair Witch, probably not going to beat The Wicker Man but it's interesting to see how more and more the line between Primetime TV and Online is getting blurred. http://www.harpersglobe.com/

woolworthsblog

Woollies is not dead, the brand has been bought by Shop Direct and digital is the best way for them to communicate it but also get answer to some business decision (Will Pick'n'mix be back?) RSS feed and Twitter so far, let's hope they add more content and start a proper communication with their audience. If Shop Direct handles this well they could be on a winner when Wollies relaunch arrived. http://www.woolworthsblog.co.uk

instituteforhumancontinuity.org

A really good site for a fake organisation, the idea is not new but the execution is done well. The lottery idea is a nice twist on the registration.I just hope the updates will keep coming on this site or this will be a disappointed experience and on thisistheend.com, as this could be fun.

jordanscereals.co.uk

Beautiful redesigned site that bring "web 2.0" to the business without compromising the brand heritage. Great use of flash to bring life to the site, great use of Ajax for interaction and great use of Blogs for content creations and user feedbacks. Perfect and lovely designed. http://www.jordanscereals.co.uk

pimpmykettle.ning.com

You have to try Pimp my virtual kettle, simple but fun. It's all in the name of charity too but with some cool videos and a loose storyline this is a refreshing site that support the off-line activities really well but I am not sure there was a need to try and build a community around it. Of course registration prevent pranksters to a certain level but it also reduce interaction. http://pimpmykettle.ning.com/
nationalbakingweek.co.uk

It looks like that as long you have the cash anyone can do a 'national day' or 'national week' about something. Is there a corporation somewhere that is actually in charge of looking after all the weeks'campaigns? just to make sure they don't clash? like making sure this campaign doesn't clash with the Holocaust remembrance week for example (bad joke - sorry). Anyway the site features the usual family oriented content and managed to plug all the sponsors product nicely without forgetting the usual celebrity thrown in for good measure. The blog is a nice idea but I would have liked to see more user generated content, an use of videos or simply the possibility to print the recipes. http://www.nationalbakingweek.com

blogaholidayread.com

I arrived to late to get my free books, shame, as Penguin again shows his understanding of integrating marketing and how to engage his readers. Of course it's a bit of a gamble but more than likely the reviews will be positives as their target audience are probably brand advocate anyway. http://www.blogaholidayread.co.uk/

i-am-everyone.co.uk

The concept of emerging artists asking fans to crash at their place is not news but Orange sponsoring Jont (never heard of him before but he is a pro at organizing party) is interesting. Orange is trying to take on 02 in the music field and starting small. The concept is in line with the campaign and I am sure Orange marketing people know enough people to fake this if the registration is minimal. The question is: apart from the people that will be having a party who will care watching the same bloke performing probably the same songs every weeks? Hopefully the support bands will help. http://www.i-am-everyone.co.uk/

summergames.lenovo.com

It's only blogs but I like it. This is what money buy you when you give everyone a brand new laptop...but it's fantastic stuff if you are into the Olympics as you can select feeds by Countries, Sports or Languages but not by individual and that's a shame. Some issues, some feeds are nicked from existing athletes blogs and therefore some of the links send you to their external blogs and using the right navigation on the Youtube videostream on the 'about' page will get you a video about Coffin Ridge Wine. So it's branded, it's interesting but it won't help selling laptop as you only need a shit one to run a blog anyway. Worth a look is the Lenovo Google page that has some sweet Google applications. http://summergames.lenovo.com/
