Budweiser: Red Light

Granted if you not lucky enough to win one you will have to fork out $150 for one. The device isn't about the products but it fit perfectly for what the brand stand for, how you enjoy it and the association with the sport couldn't be even more perfect.

Branded products don't have to suck you know...

...even if they need to sort out the delay it seems.

It's cool, it's interactive, it represents summer and vacation, it's near perfect. The robot was off when I tried it so I really hope you can share your skipping video as this would bring a nice level of social sharing.

The Art of Technology

To start with you need to know that Brian Badonde is a character from Facejacker, secondly you actually need to found him funny. If this is the case then you might actually found this campaign middy  funny?

If this is not the case you hope Microsoft will realised that their agency tried to sell them a shit campaign on the promise that it will go down well with the kids.

They actually using MSN video page for the campaign, trying to be YouTube, the problem? it look shit and you get server an advert before you can even view the content. #fail

Bing Decode Jay-Z

Is it because Bing and Bling rhyme? Simple ARG / Offline even if I wonder how many people are still doing these things? At least it's a good use of the technology they are promoting. Nice hot/cold pointer to help the user too.

Every Click Matters

Let's face it you are only on the site because of the B celebrities cameos but when you think about it the target audience is pretty broad so a bit of fun, a big movie voice and some scary facts throw in for good measure make it a safe campaign.

The format is perfect for YouTube so why haven't they got a presence? Actually they have, but not the one they want.

Turboboost Touchdown

Taking on the "Spot the Bull" concept you need to found where the rocket is going to land, a concept that follow the techxperts image of the brand.

Beautify executed with some great video footage the only problem here is that it's not live. At least the team are having fun doing this and this shown in the design and functionalities.

Sugababes love Window 7

How to show that Window 7 is easy to use? take a bunch of low IQ pop stars, after all if they can do it, surely everyone can do it... http://www.sugababeslovewindows7.com

office2010themovie.com

Hopefully this is a geek joke because as a normal, hopefully well balanced office worker, I found this really stupid and don't exited me at all. It's hard to market something as boring as Office but surely there must be another way? http://www.office2010themovie.com/

wiimusic.com

It's one of the big release for Nintendo this Christmas and sadly we only get the usual videos from Nintendo. I know that their marketing is all about not offending anyone and pushing offline try out (as they did with the Wii fit) but I wanted more, so much more especially when you have someone like Cee-lo or Rev Run at your disposal. They could have made a site full of sound experiences or a game where you battle against any of them but no; it's all bland as usual. At least you won't need to read the manual when you are done with this site. http://www.wiimusic.com

microsoft.co.uk/defyallchallenges/

Silverlight is back in a big way, scary I know, but it's time to stop laughing and actually look at it as some serious tech are in the making, even if this site is made in Flash! Using the Machinina format is a way of getting to the geek community. What's missing in the Machinina maker, is preview of VO and SFX and videos before you drag them on the stage and the ability to upload your own VO. The site is sleek and fast but the design could have been improve as I still don't know why there is a map icon as I can not actually walk around, it's one think to simulate and interface, it's another to play with user expectation. http://www.microsoft.co.uk/defyallchallenges/.

acdcrocks

Am not sure that "the First Video in Excel" is something worth bragging about and I did not see AC/DC fans as Excel geeks but hey; anything these days to try to be different. I would have been more impressed if they had the balls to do this for the full length of the official video more than just the gimmick that this is. Let's face it, this doesn't beat Radiohead. If you are into Ascii try the Matrix. http://www.acdcrocks.com/excel/

Microsoft is trying hard to reverse the stereotype that PC users are geeks or office workers. Sadly the user generated content actually reinforce this idea. On a plus note the Time Square installation is impressive and will probably push people to upload their beautifully face to the site just to be on it but Microsoft adds are still funny in a bad way. http://imapc.lifewithoutwalls.com/

skypelaughterchain

Laugh is contagious and to encourage people to use Skype in video mode this campaign managed to found a small mechanic that works worldwide and bring a little happiness to the world. I must be a miserable bastard because I only managed to raise a smile but I still love the principle. Of course the first clips you see are not from Skype users but they had to start somewhere. http://www.skypelaughterchain.com/

nokiaconnectors

A simple campaign that works well as it's based on a simple trick. it starts with this:

and then you are redirected here: http://nokiaconnectors.com/dynamo/.

I like the fact that they took the time to create an application for the phone so you can be a magician yourself too. After that all the rest is branded content but there is some cool external links for the kids, like "The Inaudible Ringtone" that can not be heard by the over 30.

egao-sharp.jp

After the Canne's Lion winner coming from Japan, more and more people are looking at the country outputs as the new trend to follow and it's fair to say the bar has been raise for European designers, coders and creative. This site does not disappointed as it actually takes an European scene for inspiration and add a Japanese twist to it. Remind me of Orisinal and Mario Paper, beautiful https://www.egao-sharp.jp/

photoshop.com/express

Does Flick or Picasa be worried? Borrowing from the classic itune and Piclens design, Adobe deliver a great user experience and simple tools to edit your photos. The fact that you can hook up to your Flick, Photobucket or Facebook account is a great move to convert people. If they ever do an offline tools or a CS3 integration than this could be really interesting indeed. 2GB only so far. http://www.photoshop.com/express/
