Sherlock Holmes 221b

Great Facebook integration piece, where you can play with a friend. Beautifully crafted and with content specifically made for the experience.

The zoom function is annoying after a while but is the best way to constrain the site to 1024. The interview part is the most frustrating as questions need to be formulated in a proper way to be able to get a proper answer. The mini games are a nice way to inject some breathing space and it's nice to see that help is given at every stage to make sure the user is never frustrated. I also appreciated the fact that everything is revealed once you completed a case as not everyone as hours to play the game.

If you like this I would recommend to try and found this game.

Christmas Nokia

This look really lovely isn't it? Well it is but once you past the cuteness you will realised that there is only 3 sections. I would i love to see some Easter eggs and interactions. http://www.christmas.nokia.co.uk

Four Ways to Speak Out

A really important campaign, the main video get the point across. Considering this is an online campaign a digital way of getting in contact with Refuge should be available, not just an hidden phone number. http://www.fourwaystospeakout.com

Bitch Slap Movie

Looks like Russ Meyer still inspire directors. A few navigation problems (when using the gun or coming back from the gallery), I like their viral idea http://greenscreen.bitchslapmovie.com but it would have been better if you could embed a youTube videos automatically behind it, that would really have taking it to the next level. http://www.bitchslapmovie.com

W+K Calendar

A more creative approach to the now obligatory agencies Christmas offering, sadly for me I though the ideas presented so far were a bit flat or already been done. http://www.wkadventcalendar.com/

Keep The FD Happy

This would have been a good site 10 years ago but now this is just dull but considering that the target audience might still be using Lotus Note, Explorer 6 and Windows 95 this might just been spot on. http://www.keepthefdhappy.com/

Big Kids Calendar

Next time I have a new job I will make sure there is a clause where I do not have to participate to some shit agency self promotion. I know it is for a good cause and all but please... http://www.bigkidscalendar.com/

Put on a panto

Beautifully animated web site for kids, easy to use and entertaining. Print everything and get going, I really love the practice session (iphone soundboard as a bonus!). I sadly don't think a lot of people will go through with it as the time required to do justice to the pantos is maybe too long for parents to dedicate themselves to it and I don't think a lot of parents will managed to set-up their laptop and speakers in the front room to make it all professional. Ideal for schools really. http://www.putonapanto.com

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts

Simple and effective Twitter campaign that don't cost the earth and encourage repeat visit. Brilliant! Granted they have a great and expensive product, would not have work with if Charmin would have done the same.http://www.krispykreme.co.uk/hotlight/

Charmin Enjoy the Go

Please, please this has to stop. Some campaigns are so crap they are funny but this is shit (see what I did there? no clever I know, sorry). Perhaps we could write about the rise of reality TV, the influence of the 15 minutes of fame in our society, the effect of the global recession and the lack of real aspiration for the new generation and try to make sense on how this campaign came about. Or why the ambassadors are so PC: one gay, one black, one actor, one mum and most of them have stage experience. Fair play to them they have it all, Twitter, Blog, flickr, Facebook, YouTube it's all covered. Please do watch the YouTube channel it's worth it. I also liked the http://www.charminleaveyourmark.com idea, a live streaming of a toilet wall, shame is was not working for me. To be honest this toilet duck campaign is actually more interesting.

Turkey Off

Sometime simple is better and this one page site does it all by using social network as part of the voting mechanic. They don't ask you to comment, to donate, to use a widget or to email all your friend. They just ask you to vote by using Twitter, Facebook or Linkedin (an odd choice but understandable as they can retrieve the number of contact for the voting). Perhaps they could have added the number of view/subscriber on youTube as part of the equation. This should remind everyone that sometime the simple is better. http://www.turkeyoff.com/

Starbucks Love Project

Nothing new in this campaign but the execution is slick. I am glad that the money I spend on overprice coffee now and again helped build this site. Good use of Papervison. http://www.starbucksloveproject.com

Coke Facial Profiler Part 2

Remember this post? http://blog.venividibloggi.net/2009/10/coke-zero-facial-profiler.html, well they are now live and obviously did not check any of the picture uploaded, wished I had upload a picture of my cock now. Anyway here is the result:

Should I contact Lyssa?

Give it a ponder

The now classic modernista.com/ and skittles.com/ navigation model is been used to promote anti mobile bullying. An interesting campaign for an old problem in this digital age. Would have been nice to actually be able to download some mobile stuff, a simple bear iphone app could have been good. http://www.giveitaponder.com

Shelter House Bling

Better use of Google Street View then Coke Christmas effort. Sadly the coding is a bit hit and miss and doesn't work on Chrome, if they both have combined their effort we would have had a slick and fun campaign. At least no moderation here!http://www.housebling.org.uk/

Shake That Orangina

Another one of these UGC site where you vote, as per usual half of the content hasn't be done for the site, just people uploading old content. Good idea to be able to send message to the people that submit videos but it's a shame they are trying to get you to register. http://www.shakethatorangina.com

Super Mario Bross Wii

It's cute, it's Mario and it's what the kids will be playing over Christmas. A great site that is full of videos, screenshots and info. I just would I like something to play with or a download to keep me busy until I get my hands on the game. http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/smnj/

Instant Creative Solution (Live)

It's not a campaign but it's worth blogging about as I suspect it's one of this "wouldn't it be cool if we just do it", I am glad they did even if the punch line is a bit disappointing.http://instantcreativesolutions.com/

Jim Carrey

Form before content on this site with a few Easter eggs. Except Twitter there is no forum, no fans newsletter, no VIP, no shop, no Facebook, no blog, missed opportunity here to really connect with your audience. http://www.jimcarrey.com/

Coca Cola Christmas Decoration

It's cheesy, it's Christmas, it's Coke. Whoever decide to use the Coke's jingle should be shot and this could work so much better on Street View but it's a fun little piece of work that works well with the TV adds. A isometric view might have been better and it would have been nice to be able to resize the decorations. For some reason I don't think my creation will pass the moderation. http://xmas.coke.com/v/en_GB/

Land's End Canvas

Every site use videos these days to set the tone of the site, this is not a bad thing and this site is pretty sweet. Social media logins, great, dynamic canvas based on your social content? even better. It's of course a bit hit and miss but it's fun and the integration with the videos is seamless. I actually wished they even use my webcam to take some content. Try it, you will love it! http://mycanvas.landsend.com/

Le Recyclage de Luxe Show

It's in the newspapers, on TV, on the tube, on billboard so let's see how many number of viewers they are going to get at the end of the campaign. Why doesn't it work? because the 60's and French new wave is not know in the UK, because it is not really funny, because recycling is boring and turn people off, because an hedge fund campaign during a recession is a bad move, because the real Stellar Artois audience is an audience of larger lads, because the new audience they are trying to reach do not care about youTube, because 15 minutes is too long. It's not wonder that the only successful videos with over 64,000 view is the clip of Florence and the Machine and you can pretty much guaranty that the music lover won't care if it's for Stella or not. Please Mother London stop this non-sense campaign it's not working and you are spending too much of InBev money. http://www.youtube.com/user/stellaartois

Nespresso Whatelse

You can fault the production value but what the fuck is this? the best bits are in fact the digs at the movie industry in one of the clip. The rest it's over indulgence and too much money throw at it. I like to look at behind the scene footages but in this instance they are being used due to lack of real content on the site. But well done for using Facebook connect for feeback. I used one of the machine in the past and it used to jam or failed to properly pierce the lead of the pots. My English is terrible but there is a spelling mistake in "Photos: Boutique backstage": A Nespresso Boutique was bulit, should be built! http://www.nespresso-whatelse.com

Sugababes love Window 7

How to show that Window 7 is easy to use? take a bunch of low IQ pop stars, after all if they can do it, surely everyone can do it... http://www.sugababeslovewindows7.com

Orange people project

It's nice to see brand that do things purelly for the people and with this Facebook app Orange deliver under the "Together we can do more" tagline. Beautiful and rich application, this clearly show an understanding of Facebook and its user. I really hope this will get some marketing behind this because it will be a shame if this little germs is not used. http://apps.facebook.com/people-projects/

Orange Chistmas

A small site that works brilliantly, the interaction is short enough for you to come back everyday. The fact that you will always manage to guess the awnser is a good move. It won't necessary convert people to Orange but it will show that Orange is a nice brand. http://shake.orange.co.uk/

U Sing

I love the equaliser on the floor, the rest of the design seems to have been made to fit the semi-circle idea, not always with great result. Not sure if I am happy with the fact that you can buy some of the song on itune, I hope this goes to the developers and not to the client. http://www.u-sing-thegame.com

Inside your Search

Remember subservient-chicken? or virtualbartender2? It's the same idea with a twist, and I like the concept very much. It's just a shame that you can not actually click on the search results as this would have made the site in my opinion. I know Weetabix is a family brand but there should be some videos for words like "Moonwalk", "Walk Like an Egyptian", "Cartwheel" and "banana" as I never expected "breast scale" to make it. One more thing: where is the sound? http://www.insideyoursearch.com/

Gap Cheer Factory

It's Christmas and everyone is trying to cash in, perhaps I am ugly old fart but this really made me want to puke as it so cheesy it hurt. I will therefore not use this even if I like the fact that they have added the now must have share with with Facebook and Twitter. http://www.cheerfactory.com/

The Puma Index

Let's say there is another massive crash in the economy, are the models really going to end up nude? no, of course not, so why would I want to check this site over and over again or have it run on mydesktop / iphone? If the site was launched at the start of the year I probably could have seen it has a bit fun but having seen the repercussion of the recession around me I found it of bad taste. If you could at least check the clothes in details I could have seen it as a navigation gimmick and the site would have had a purpose. If Puma want to make a statement they should lower the price of their products or give vouchers away. http://theindex.puma.com/

Adidas Teamgeist

Take "heroes", "Sin City", "Max Payne" and some absolute amazing Subbuteo action, so simple, so brilliant that you forget you watching the same CGI or that the game is too easy. http://www.adidas.com/campaigns/adidasdfb/content/?strcountry_adidascom=uk

Elf Yourself

You know it's Christmas when the Elf yourself site goes live, 2 new videos this year, surelly with all the money they make they could have done a bit more. Facebook connect finally made it in too. http://elfyourself.jibjab.com

The 7 11 Club

Is this sort of campaign still working? choose your own adventure with videos but so predictable and never funny or rude enough. Even with the addition of the usual dance game there is nothing that invite you to come back as you can just print 100's of the voucher (but at least you get a voucher!). Now if the twist was that the hot Brazilian was a pre-op transexual, that would be funny...http://www.the711club.com/

Berlin 20 Years on

Beautiful use of Papervision here, don't forget to zoom and rotate the landscape. The rest of the site is full of interesting facts about the event without being boring as the text is kept to a minimum and the photos / videos spoke for themselves. A site that can educate everyone. Would have been good to have an English version and a place for people to upload their own photos / videos too. http://appl.morgenpost.de/bm_flash/21_Mauerfall/index2.html

Lois Jean Winter 09

I would I like to see a little clips for every years and why is the close button on the left? Stylish but annoying after a while. http://www.loisjeans.com/web0910/

Real Racing GTI

This is not a Web Campaign but an iphone app and it's pretty good for what you can do with an iphone. It's free and you can win a car, this probably explain why this has gone to number 1 in the download chart. Good games are the perfect way for people to spend time with your brand and this is one is a classic. Posting replay on youTube is also a great hook for this to go viral. http://www.vw.com/realracinggti/en/us/

Movember

Movember is going from strength to strength, mainly because the concept is fun, easy to do, encourage viral in the offices and everyone is a winner. The campaign has now regular sponsors and this lead to a lot of offline activities (mainly parties!). The addition of prizes and Mo Sista is a good thing, rewarding the audience and acknowledging the support of your partner is a clever idea. The site design is not perfect but it does everything it should and a bit more. Have a browse at "Mo money" this should restore faith in the big companies as most of them are supporting the campaign. http://uk.movember.com/

Trivial Pursuit Experience

I like the fact that you don't need to register and that you can go straigh in, play and leave when you want. The UGC of failed videos is a great idea to add some humor to what could have been a dry experience and will certainly drive the sharing of the banter card. http://www.trivialpursuitexperiment.com/

Belly and Brain

I really hope Aardman is aware of this because it's too close for confort for me,The Characters were thought-up by Hooper Galton and designed and directed by Rebel Rebel.:

Pib and Pog (2003)

Xbox lips

I so wanted to love this because the Facebook connect is pretty smart and the facial recognition is impressive, but the end result remind me of a poorly animated Director animation. Shame as I am sure there is some great coding behind this site.http://www.xbox.com/en-gb/lipsjukebox

Skinny Cow Oh yes you can

Facebook connect is great but it's stopping really creativity and now more and more apps are simply a mini site embedded inside a fan page. The classic confession mechanic is back in force with this one but the use or Papervison make it better. Idea 2, execution 8. The "Cowculator" is pointless after one use and the "Collectable cow" is a list of external links. http://www.facebook.com/skinnycowuk?v=app_6009294086

Litago

What's not to like in this classic competition of customising an object. The flash editing tools are excellent and the animation cute. Usual sharing suspects are in place too to promote your work. Give it a moo! My un-moderate entry can be found here http://tinyurl.com/yfntbx5, hopefully will be remove soon.http://www.litago.no/kampanjer/kunst/

Wispa Gold Message

Can't believe I missed the deadline for this one as it's a fantastic online / offline campaign. Brand awareness to the max, it's perfect, it's lovely and warm and gives the public a chance to shine. The site doesn't look much but the google map implementation is done really well and you have to praise them for thinking of creating a team of helpers to encourage people to submit. People will be talking about their advert, take pictures of the them and share them, great viral potential even if only in England key cities.http://www.wispagoldmessages.com

Coolcat

I really like the idea of using dance battles to display the clothe collection, Uniqlo would have done something amazing with it. Sadly we have shy or over the top teenagers trying to look cool and failing. The videos should have room to brief with a soundtrack to match instead of a small video box and poorly designed user interface. The competition is full of youtube videos upload therefore not worth watching. http://www.coolcat.nl/nl/dance-battle

Crazy for Crocs

You would assume that with all the sponsorts they would have had some money to create a good site, but no, it's back to the 90's with a design and coding that look less than professional. Did they have Crocs on their hands when they did the site? http://www.crazy4crocs.com/

Make me Front Row

If you want to win this competition get 20 mates to vote for you because at the moment the number one spot has only 14 votes. Perhaps it's because the campaign as just started or perhaps it's because no one care. There is nothing wrong with the rest of the site, all the usual suspect are here: behind the scene footages, product info, a shit blog with 7 entries, a store locator (in case you have to have it now) and an offline tour. I would have like to see some photos from the tour, I would I like to see some videos for "style inspiration" because at the moment it looks like an 80's photoshoot and I would I like some music because this site is lacking soul and fun. Style is not enough am afraid http://www.makemefrontrow.com

Lucky Voice at Selfridges

They only using Facebook to promote their offline activity and it's shame because they could have made a live stream from the store and it would have been fun to watch. Some AR could have been used too for the users to do some sing along in front of their PC. Next year then? http://www.facebook.com/pages/Lucky-Voice-Living-Room-Selfridges/156866613659

Chiquita Song

If you have a classic jingle, why not let the people play with it? Simple, easy, fun and on brand, upload the lot on youTube and you are done. http://chiquita.com/#/ChiquitaSong/

Coca Cola Expedition 206

They are young, they are free and they are going to bring you happiness. The submission phase is done but you still can vote for the best team. All team members are nice, cute, clever and fun just like Coke (pass the sick bucket now). At the moment what's interesting is the use of gigya.com to handle all the connections and sharing to social networks. The next phase is to follow the progress of the winning team throughout 2010, why would you do this is anyone guess, so I hope Coke has planned some cool user interactions along the way to subtend the interest. http://www.expedition206.com

Mobile Goodbye

it's only music videos but I like it...of course the navigation jump everywhere but this is a nice low budget proposition that get to the point and follow the brand image of fun that Sprint represent. http://www.mobilegoodbye.com/
26 Oct 2009

Vodafone 360

Online, mobile and offline in one simple campaign...will you do it for 36K? I like the concept and am sure lot of students will enter it; that's probably their target audience. The site is pretty basic but they are trying to recreate the mobile experience via the interface with a various degree of success. Nice search by mobile number but would I like to see search by location too. With a bit of effort it's easy money so get stuck in! http://allyourmates.vodafone.co.uk/360/

Kingsmill Confessions

Not really a campaign; more a hook to get people to the official Kingsmill site (why would you otherwise?). At least they did not try to have people uploading videos as this would have been a big failed. Sadly the subject matter only brings shit confessions, let's face it it's not secret-confessions.com. For some reason I don't think my confession is going to make it. http://www.kingsmillconfessions.com
