Budweiser: Red Light

Granted if you not lucky enough to win one you will have to fork out $150 for one. The device isn't about the products but it fit perfectly for what the brand stand for, how you enjoy it and the association with the sport couldn't be even more perfect.

Branded products don't have to suck you know...

...even if they need to sort out the delay it seems.

MTV: Gif Me More

I haven't got a clue if this is for an MTV program, for Samsung or for both but I certainly want to found out more as the tech / POV in this piece is extremely well done.

Nice idea to have a few missions to complete, I still think this could have been pushed more with more bio on the people, more shareable content.

AT&T: Daybreak2012

Tim Kring from Heroes helped developed the story and the production value is one of a sitcom for sure.
It's all amazing and beautiful but does it actually deliver the message? Trying to found out about the device when playing the experience is actually annoying; if you do you are bounce off to AT&T boring site and terrible R&D videos.

This is a shame become the tech they are developing are actually interesting.

An app is available on Android and Iphone to play along, so you don't need the Samsung Galaxy to take part. The App is impressive and worth a download but how many people will take the step to do so?

As crafted as this is I wonder if ARG is really the right choice for their audience,  they probably think that if enough nerds get involved, enough nerds might buy the device and become ambassadors for it. I personally think that most nerds will enjoy the ride but stick with their devices.

Panasonic: The Persecution of Rommy Gulla

One problem here: Rommy Gulla is obviously an actor. Do they really think we are going to believe that the poor bloke is unaware of everything that is happening to him?

A quizz is making people come back for a chance to win the Blue-Ray recorder, the rest is a classic "suggest an idea".

Facebook BT

More than 9000 people voted on what type of dress Jane should wear, are they all BT employees? Come on people haven't you got something better to do?

This is the part where are should praise BT for trying to do something a bit different but I can't be bother as it seems that the share and Submit button are broken, well in Chrome anyway.

Skins

I am too old to care about the new series of Skins but they always do some nice digital integrations, so this year each characters has a Twitter account and there is also a DailyBooth feed. Would be cool if they could have FourSquare to make it even more real.

The Greatest Cup Never Run

You could see this as 2 things:
A trick to have people clicking on the Like button or a cool way of using Facebook feature.

With a TV event on the day of the race, this should generate some nice words of mouth.

Xfactor Karaoke

A perfect partnership, a simple interface and a disappointing experience as you need to sign-up to actually get do a full track. Nevertheless it's clever marketing.

Prison Valley

A webdocumentary, don't expect a 2 minutes web fix, you will have to invest some time here.

To a certain extend it's a mix between a CD-rom interactif (do you remember them?), a good forum and a classic website but the subject matter will keep you watching.

Is this the future of TV / Web program?

Philips: Parallel lines

Could Philips do better than Carousel?

Yes because the amount of content this time is even more impressive and the quality of the films are second to none but no because Carousel had that special effect feel about it, it was one take but you could interact with it, this is more conventional, I guess they are trying to reach a wider audience.

Some minor improvement on the interface this time around and still some hidden extra (if you can found them), but what's more impressive is that YouTube and Facebook are now part of the online experience with their own player and Philips engages the audience with a classic UGC competition but the Ridley Scott name take it to the next level.

Je tue un ami

Controversial for sure and really well executed but nothing new am afraid, shame...plus not using Facebook connect on this one is a crime.

trueblood

Some interesting tests of interaction with your webcam, granted it's a lot like Eyetoy and the site is not sleek enough for my liking but it should be enough to get their audience exited. Try "You first kiss". http://fox.foxtv.it/trueblood/

ithementalist.tumblr.com/

It's a shame that there is only a Youtube video to see and the idea is not new but what redeem this site is their use of Twitter as it seems they are actively replying to the user. It's a cheap campaign and so much more could have been made to make this a truly interactive experience. http://seemorethanothers.com/

sky1.sky.com/show/abduct-me

What is better than the web to let people share their views? Take this new online series from Sky1; aliens abduction is the perfect subject for user generated content. What I found frustrating is that Sky still has not sorted a clear navigation system between the micro site and the main site and put too much promo around the content. This damage the experience and submitting a video is a paintful process. No simple comments, no RSS feed, no voting, nothing to push you to be involved, this is an online show that is not supported by it's online execution. They should take a look at Channel Four on how to do it. http://sky1.sky.com/show/abduct-me

itv.com/documents/html/demons.html

ITV put some though and create an interesting site for their TV program, been a TV series aimed at kids, don't be surprised if all you get his a game. Granted it's polished and you will get lot of info about the monsters and back stories but at the end of the day it's mainly poor man Mortal Kombat game and it's a shame as it does look like a lot of time, love and effort have been spend on this site. http://www.itv.com/documents/html/demons.html

fortheloveofwispa.com

Online call to arms, advertised off line to make a TV commercial. Interesting concept, can't believe that they haven't got any banners or confetti yet when they already have 2 helicopters and 3 aeroplanes or are these already been planned by the marketing agency? The site isn't exiting enough for you to care as you are not sure of the reward ("may be" isn't enough) and with think like "children in needs" people have other stuff to do. http://www.fortheloveofwispa.com/

joost.com

Joost desktop application is no more. To be able to compete they now have launched as video community site; hopefully the content will make them stand out of the rest. I do miss their original interface to be honest as I used to found it intuitive and useful. Can they become the Last.fm of the video world? http://www.joost.com

facespook.co.uk

I never saw Spook so I was interested in the URL, thinking it would be a take on Facebook. It's none of it and considering how much the BBC have played recently with video and interaction it's disappointing to see the site constrained to such a small window and only use simple choice interaction. The Oddcast technology is still good but perhaps we should try now to use it in a more creative way. The classic viral options are offered and the Facebook integration works well but a mobile download could have been viable too. http://www.facespook.co.uk
