nolaf.org

Videos, videos and more videos, but at least it's they have created more than one clip for each characters and the quality of the execution should keep you watching for the other sections. The 'send to a friend' clip script is actually funny. Will this sell products? that's not the point, this is brand awareness and they should have enough material for TV ads and online advertising. http://nolaf.org/

We are starting for sure, but we have a massive production house behind us so we are no start up. Want to win Cyber Lions? us too, might as well put the bar high....

inside.nike.com/..../mostwanted

The beauty in this site is not the cool videos or the great off-line campaign for the selected few that will get the chance to go through the selection process, no, the beauty is that the site take a blog format bringing in Tags and simplicity. The problem is that it relied to much on videos and that 3 campaigns (mostwanted, Boot Bamp, Cesc) running at the same time can dilute the message. They really should allow comments to show that it's not just a one way communication. http://www.nike.com/nikeos/p/nikefootball/en_GB/

nikeid.nike.com

A great link between the real world and the online one, NikeID get the kids involved by asking them to send a color picture to customized their shoes. The technology is interesting and the path of engagement should mean people would want to buy their personal shoes. But I would love to know if anyone is actually going to do this, will kids remember the short code when out and about (IT is 3464646402) ? will kids go online to see their design when they already got it on their phone? The 1/1 campaign is to me far more interesting. Shot your colours http://nikeid.nike.com

canneslions.com/winners/cyber/

If you only visit one site this week make it this one and browse the winners list from Cannes Cyber Lions, then show them to your client and account people and tell them "that's the sort of work we want to do with, and for your brand, not the usual shitty competition site that the marketing guy at [fill in big company name that has more money then sense here] though about during his morning dump on the toilet". Worth a try anyway, what have you got to loose? http://www.canneslions.com/winners/cyber/

egao-sharp.jp

After the Canne's Lion winner coming from Japan, more and more people are looking at the country outputs as the new trend to follow and it's fair to say the bar has been raise for European designers, coders and creative. This site does not disappointed as it actually takes an European scene for inspiration and add a Japanese twist to it. Remind me of Orisinal and Mario Paper, beautiful https://www.egao-sharp.jp/

julianvelard.com

Is it a promotional site? is it a game? is it an experience? is it a work of art? Well it's a bit of everything and the beauty of it is that by getting you hocked with the design and simple interactions you actually listening to the lyrics and getting fond of the artist when, to be honest, is music is pretty similar to a lot of things out there. Have a look at the 'information' section, it's the usual stuff you would expect and disappoint compare to the experience but the usual blog, behind the scene and links to various social network are represented and there is even a Tweeter feed, well done. http://www.julianvelard.com/

byblos.hr

There is no doubt that the first impression is good, the full screen video and music make you want to book your plane ticket for next week-end. The calendar function with its flyer style image keep the club spirit going, more info could have been good or the possibility to download the calendar to your outlook or Google account would have been fun. It's such a shame that the gallery section doesn't display in full screen, a waste opportunity to show off here. The podcast is a really good idea to get the vibe of the club and get people interest and loyal to the club. Just a little more bling and the site would be slick as their dance floor. http://www.byblos.hr/

jumptothenextlevel.com

An English URL for a French site, trying to get the kids really...ok the design is cool even if heavily borrowed from eboy. The problems are numerous here, 1 - I need to register to enter the site and that always piss me of, 2- it's the same game, over and over again and not even an original one, 3- It's only a draw competition anyway. So unless I am a spotty teenager I don't see why I should bother...than again the site is probably working for their spotty teenagers target audience. http://www.jumptothenextlevel.com/

fashionatplay.ca

This is the sort of site that on one hand you will think: "who that's fantastic, I love the stop motion animation" and on the other hand you will think: "and?" it's only a small viral site that is done and dusted in 5 minutes. They should have at least provided more space to see the beautiful animations. the Facebook application is actually good for the audience, can wait to see a naked cube. http://www.fashionatplay.ca/

ecodazoo.com

Beautifully animated, you can use your mouse to go up and down or simply rotate the tower. Impressive stuff but than what? I want more to be able to care, to come back and to share...and I want to download a printable sheet with instruction to be able to do the tower for real on my desk. http://www.ecodazoo.com/

unavenirsolide.com

A recruitment site that use a interesting navigation, POV (point of view) seems to become the new design in films these days so it's only natural that we start seeing it appearing on the web too; even if minimal here. The site could be mistaken for a film site due to the high quality of the 'trailers' presented here but dig deeper and there is tons of information and video reportage for young people to understand all the jobs related to the construction industry. The harder part will be to actually get the kids on the site to start with. http://www.unavenirsolide.com/

lovegurumovie.com

Is too much promotion killing your product? Paramount takes no chance in trying to flog their latest film, we have Myspace, Facebook, Youtube, mini-site, viral site, widget, ecards and a mobile game on his way. The only good ones are Beliefnet and the photo generator. Personally I think this is too much but I am sure it will get the words around. http://www.lovegurumovie.com/

feelgreatbritain.com

A mini site for an offline tour, you will found the usual dates and places (even if some still say [on date] in the copy). The video of people going through the experience is a good incentive for you to visit the tour and celebrity endorsement always work well. Linking to an external converter is a poor choice as surely this could have been done in the flash itself. It's a shame that the design do not let the video or screenshots shine but that's the problem when you try to mimic the offline material to closely. A site that does what it said on the tin, nothing more nothing less and target the parents and young adults, after all they are the ones with the car and the money. http://www.feelgreatbritain.com/

spore.com

This post isn't about a campaign but Spore marketing tactic are worth watching. Multilingual, easy to use, a free creature creator, a sporepedia and some simple community tools make this site a winner in promoting the game. 250,000 creatures have been uploaded on the first day the service gone live. Of course Maxis as a huge following but the appeal of these Tamagotchi creatures works across all ages. The money back on the full game if you buy the complete creature creator and the Youtube competition seals the deal and all that for a product that will only be out in September. Impressive, so be ready for T-shirt, cuddly toys and an iphone version soon. If I was a marketing guy I would try to get my products in there one way or another. http://www.spore.com

wonderbra.co.uk/world/

It's an offline campaign so the site is minimal and the viral is as you expect, predictable. The site could have been designed a bit bigger to let the imagery shine and they should have use real women and not model to push people entering the stunt. I am not a woman but I would imagine that you will naturally compare yourself to the models and think you are not good enough. Luckily Dove, 'How to look good naked' and Susannah and Trinity will have helped people entering this campaign. It's a shame that the event is only in London and that we do not know wish celebrity will be there but the association with Breast Cancer Care should help raise the number of participant. http://www.wonderbra.co.uk/world/

freedentwhite.com

It's not because it's cute that you are allowed to ask me for all my details before I even get a chance to play with your Wofty. Not only you don't even personalised it, you are in fact only following a set path, the take photo feature is fake and I am being asked to come back tomorrow to continue the 'experience'. Well I unregistered and won't come back. http://www.freedentwhite.com/

unsubscribe-me.org

Well done for Amnesty to embrace the web but I am feeling confused. The viral videos are impressive even if rated 15 but the goal of the site, to subscribe to unsubscribe is made difficult by being presented in an Ajax form. The site is trying to hard to be Web 2.0 and I believe for this sort of campaign simpler is better. It's hard for people that just discover your site to do more than sign up, you have to expect this, and I don't believe showing how many people have done this or that work as a guilt trick. But we should praise the fact that they have set up a page on most social sites, I just hope they update these regularly as the last 'action of the month' was at the start of the year. There is a lot of provocative content here sadly bury too deep in the site. http://unsubscribe-me.org/

vo5extremestyle.co.uk

Understandably trying to promote a hair gel online is always a challenge. So what do you get, some ads (is there one coming? because there is a big gap in your design), some product infos and the biggest missed opportunity of all: The training tips. The Training tips should have been at the heart of the campaign, in a video format and used for virals. After all if they already have a youtube page, utilised it before someone else does . As for the tips; don't patronise me with instruction like "Remove the clip from the VO5 Freeze Spray"or "Run through your hair" like I was going to use it on my pube instead. I would I like to see a bit of Ajax in there to not have to jump from one page to another and a prize for entering a tip too but considering that they forgot to put an upload picture option on their form I don't see how "we'd love to ... see a picture of your style" is going to happen. I used their products because they are good not because they are doing website, give me an ecoupon and I would be happy. http://www.vo5extremestyle.co.uk/

tadd31.blogspot.com

An interesting blog that so far as been updated regularly but the writer could do with some English lesson. Been a foreigner doesn't excuse the spelling mistakes especially if you want to be taking seriously and been sarcastic because it's a way of life in your country doesn't help but it makes for an interesting read. The design could be improved but the use of Twitter and last.fm is a nice idea that make you see a bit more about the person behind the site. http://tadd31.blogspot.com/

newbornmillionaires.ie

All the elements are here, upload your photo to be in the ads, funny content (well that's debatable) and simple message. The trouble here is that it actually looks cheap, the design is poor, the animations a little bit amateurish and the soundtrack is terrible. There is no reason for the site to exit, TV, offline and PR would get the message across better. http://www.newbornmillionaires.ie/

moodstream.gettyimages.com

A clever way to display random content to the public and the professionals. The full screen let the assets speak for themselves and the simplicity of pre-selecting your assets via the stream list and moodboards might lead you to order more than you should. But that's the point... http://moodstream.gettyimages.com/

mentoskissfight.com

This is of course only a game but blending videos intro with a more traditional style of animation works really well. The fight are easy enough for you to go through them in your three attempts. This is pure lunch time break fun and won't change the word but it reinforce the brand to the young and older market, after all do you know a lot of 16 years old that have played the original Mortal Combat? http://www.mentoskissfight.com/

playballoonacy.com

Even if I understand the concept and can see that the prize is good enough for me to register I am not sure that as a consumer I want to invest that much of my time doing it. It's a great idea that work well for partner sites and you can not fault it for brand interaction. The design and animation are well crafted but will it become annoying? register and found out. I would I like the option to received my selected ballon by the post, this way they would have gather more data on me... http://www.playballoonacy.com/

drugfucked.tht.org.uk

Ok it's a site for gay men but as it been build by gay men? I am not the target audience but isn't the disco too stereotypical?. There are some explanation about the drugs but not about the medicines, shame. The site is content heavy and this is a good thing as I am sure if you need this site you might want a lot of info. Dean's story could have been told via a video that could have been posted on video sharing sites. Perhaps the next step would be to propose a 24/7 MSN Messenger service? http://drugfucked.tht.org.uk/

honda.co.uk/accord/

A good place to watch the first live advert for a long time, the documentary is worth watching too. Good use of Ajax and nice 3D animations but the rest of the site is sadly too conventional. http://www.honda.co.uk/accord

footballyourway.co.uk

An excuse for a vouchers promotion really. Seeing it in this contest makes you appreciate the fact that the site is actually trying hard to be more than just one PDF Granted they have to bribe you with good prizes for you to register but they refresh the poll every week, let people comments and they even do a bit of flash interaction to get you in the mood. The viral is only here to tick a box but at least it's here. http://www.footballyourway.co.uk/

uniqlo

An interesting survey experience that give a voice to the consumers and a place to go for pervert... Even if the navigation seems to have sometime a mind on his own this is still an impressive coding exercise, to be honest is just best to watch it do his thing to enjoy it fully.
I am sure the women consumers will recognised themselves and therefore trust the products as sold by their piers. http://www.uniqlo.com/try/

msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/msnbc/components/spectra/index.html

It's only a portal but I like it... an interesting take on presenting information in the digital space. The World filter effect is effective and you can even use your webcam to control the information. Perhaps this could be ported to the Wii ? http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/msnbc/components/spectra/index.html

icelandsocks.com

It will required a lot of time for the users to do this and passed it on, but the time spend could create some great 'send to a friend'. It's a shame that there is not an option to make your creation public as it would have provided extra content and give ideas for your own creation. But well done for the guys that have dream this off-the-wall campaign, I really hope there is a viral videos to promote this or even some Facebook pages for the Socks. After all they are better than the c'mons. http://www.icelandsocks.com/

soulsamsung.net

For a site about an expensive phone they choice of photography is poor. The Navigation is slow and frustrating as with the animations. By trying to be too slick the site is in fact dull and boring. If you are going to impress, make it sharper and find a better gimmick for the reveals. Diamonds are good assets to play with or even the Mont Blanc, so much could have been done with them. http://www.soulsamsung.net/

aveo.chevrolet.nomonday.com

I got some browser errors under IE7. It's a shame because the site is a nice parody of the competition and fit with the TV ads nicely. Granted it's still a simple showroom site with minimal content and the 3D could have been use a bit more on the real side. http://aveo.chevrolet.nomonday.com/

littlechef.co.uk/bringback/

A massive challenge for this brand and even if offline is where the battle will be win, they are using the web to good effect. An easy campaign based on Nostalgia but their use of Google map and blog is a enough to give the site some life. http://www.littlechef.co.uk/bringback/

Why change a winning idea? An updated version of last year competition. More cams, more options (you can now invited friends) but the fun is still there... silly and perfect...http://www.spotthebull.co.uk/
