imapweather.com

In beta but already a great integration job and let's face it, everybody is talking about the weather. The US are the most active so far but wait until the English know about this, I am sure they will be all over it. There is something fascinating in clicking on a boat in the middle of the ocean and finding out the wind speed, water temperature and waves... careful this site might turn you into a weather geek. http://imapweather.com/

chlorophyllo.fr

Interactivity is a word that is used vaguely these days. Here the only thing you have to do is press 2 keys but do not let this stop you to enjoy this well crafted site, where a lot of attention has been developed in recreating the 60's looks. It's a one time experience only but it's worth the chlorophyllo ride. Enjoy! http://www.chlorophyllo.fr/

mrstrings.co.uk

Beautiful code to generate your alter ego, you are left to discover what to do, wish is nice, but even after getting all the hidden symbols nothing happen and this was disappointing. But this site will be loved by the kids even if I hope this will be backed up by an offline campaign as there is no share functionality or any downloads to keep your creation. http://www.mrstrings.co.uk/

touch.konami.jp/mgst/us/pc/

Recreating the user interface or the functionality of a device is not new, the same as been seen of website about mobile phone, PSP or DS but the implementation here is slick and fluid, as it should be to sell the game, and the link to the App store makes the call to action harder to resist. http://www.touch.konami.jp/mgst/us/pc/

o--o.jp

This site goes against any coding or design standards possible but then again the game itself goes against anything that has been done before. A bit like marmite you ever love it or hate it. http://o--o.jp/

ikea.com/ms/en_GB/rooms_ideas/PS/index.html

Great stories, great animations, short enough to entertain and educate, that's all. As long as you don't expect interaction this works well as extended adverts and give you an insights to Ikea design ideas and managed to illustrate it's brand value really well. http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_GB/rooms_ideas/PS/index.html

pepsicozeitgeist.com

South by Southwest or SXSW is on so let's recycle an idea and make it pretty so people that can be there get a feel of what is going on. It works but would have been nice to search by attendees or actually @ at them within the interface.

noboringbits

The net is only supporting a great offline campaign in this case but it's nice to see the use to Google map to display where the prizes have been found. Given away the MP3 is nice way of getting this viral but the videos is sexy enough for this to happen oanyway. The mixer and various easter eggs could have been integrated better but they do add to the "no boring bits" campaign feel. http://noboringbits.com.au/

playprime.jp

I haven't go a clue what this is for, I just clicked on the big red button and challenged the leaders to get my following going. A funky soundtrack and cool design it's all it take to make you forget that you are only playing basic games and that you movements are limited to the road. The presentation is everything and it works. http://playprime.jp/

sky1.sky.com/show/abduct-me

What is better than the web to let people share their views? Take this new online series from Sky1; aliens abduction is the perfect subject for user generated content. What I found frustrating is that Sky still has not sorted a clear navigation system between the micro site and the main site and put too much promo around the content. This damage the experience and submitting a video is a paintful process. No simple comments, no RSS feed, no voting, nothing to push you to be involved, this is an online show that is not supported by it's online execution. They should take a look at Channel Four on how to do it. http://sky1.sky.com/show/abduct-me

thesoundadviceproject.com

I think the idea is really interesting as something virtual and binary is made into a real 3d object. Of course you can use it for any sentence and you could be wearing a bracelet with "I know you have a small one" for your next client meeting as a personal joke. They should have spend more time on the design and show us some people wearing the creations and the lovely box the bracelet is delivered in to get people exited about the product. Things like that are important when you want people to act on impulse. Let's hope they update the sitehttp://www.thesoundadviceproject.com/

www.eurovision.tv

A massive audience for this event, so they have pushed the social network feature of the site (My Eurovision), can't wait for the bitching to start. They have a YouTube channel and even a streaming station. For the people in the know, check out this live chat with Snop way back in 2003 where we took over a chat session on the Eurovision official site to promote Republic: The Revolution, we even hada shop.

harpersglobe.com

Hostel meets Lost meets Blair Witch, probably not going to beat The Wicker Man but it's interesting to see how more and more the line between Primetime TV and Online is getting blurred. http://www.harpersglobe.com/

overlordlist.co.uk

The idea to ask the nation to sponsor WWII veterans is a noble one and you should read the story behind the site. The problem is about the execution, they should have forgotten about the Flash and concentrated on the content. People like to give to a human, not a name, there is no feeling, no empathy when you are filling out your form. Each veteran should have a photo and a brief synopsis about them and if it brings a tear to the eye even better. I would like to congratulate the people behind this initiative and we should help them (after all the Net was born because of the WWII), but in this time of recession they should employ every tricks in the book to get notice. I would put every veterans profile on Facebook, create a group and a sponsoring widget. Get some veterans to talk about their experience in the war and upload to YouTube and carry on the PR throughout the local papers and news channel. A fake Twitter from the Tranchée would be really interesting to follow.http://overlordlist.co.uk/

jaegermeister.ag

At first I was please with the video sequence and it felt like I was in a pub, it then felt even more like I was in a pub when the sound loop starting to be annoying. It's a portal to the brand and they have throw everything in, from the shit football game to the old "send a postcard" with the usual forum and drink selector. Pass this and the presentation keeps the spirit of the brand well. The shopping section is worth looking out just to see the products available (Fur Bikini anyone?). The UK section is small but it looks like the brand is getting ready for a lot of offline events.

killzonewebgame

A brilliant idea that is probably sadly only preaching to the converted but the Squad Play option might just make it more appealing to the masses and viral. This demonstrate how marketing is evolving, after the Orange balloon race, this is a step further to include gameplay (and your product) throughout the user everyday activities. http://www.killzonewebgame.com

6minutestomidnight.com

An interactive trailer that has is difficulty level just right, enough to get you going and enough for you to probably get it wrong one or two time to hear the help from the voice over. It does it's job perfectly, short, simple and reward you with material that you probably haven't seen yet. Should have added a book tickets now! http://6minutestomidnight.com/

Also worth a look:
The double dragon viral; http://www.minutemenarcade.com/uk/

Youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCpl3MLVwUc

And all the widgets and gadget you can think off http://www.i-watch-the-watchmen.com/ww/

armanijeans.com

You can not denied that the 360 video is amassing and that the site design and code is impressive but really what are we watching here? A linear experience of a video showing models jumping around. It's self indulgent for sure but it does make an impact. http://www.armanijeans.com

cruftslive.tv

Sometime it takes an event live Cruft to show you that the net is really an establish medium. Blog, podcast,Flickr and live streaming...what more can you ask?

airfrance

It should be all about the experience, high quality videos and smooth and slick design. You could even go cheese and have one of the air hostess talked to you, and 360 if you want to be really cheese, but having a site that looks like it was build 10 years ago for an expensive service...that's just wrong and that's not how you fight a recession. http://videocdn.airfrance.com/experience/

rightmusicwrongs.org

Guilty pleasure or just terrible music, a simple campaign, a simple message and more than likely to be past around as people like to ridicule B rated celebrities. It's in line with Virgin image, their target audience (nostalgia from the 80's, 90's) and the Facebook integration by artist is a nice touch. http://rightmusicwrongs.org

skittles.com

You have to admire Skittles for trying such a bold move, even if this is a rip-off Modernista. This proved that social marketing is now the norm, of course applying to all products is not recommended but for friendly sharing products it's worth a go. The only issue? people like to write stupid stuff on your page, but if you get pass this, it's an interesting proposition.http://www.skittles.com
